D.C.-based journalist purports Trump threatened to use force against Mexico during Friday’s call with Peña Nieto

Well-known propagandist reports fake news once again

(INTELLIHUB) — A controversial Washington D.C.-based journalist named Dolia Estevez who writes for Forbes caused quite a storm Wednesday after she submitted a report claiming that President Donald Trump threatened to use force against Mexico and disparaged Mexico’s president Enrique Peña Nieto during a 20-minute phone conversation last Friday.

The journalist claims that although public accounts of the call paint the conversation in a constructive light, “confidential information,” a transcript “obtained” by Estevez herself, suggests something far different.

Despite the fact that the White House has declined to comment, Estevez purports President Trump told Peña Nieto on the phone, “I don’t need the Mexicans. I don’t need Mexico […] We are going to build the wall and you all are going to pay for it, like it or not.”

Furthermore, Estevez purported that during the call, Trump threatened to use force aginst Mexico by imposing a 10% tax on Mexican exports “and of 35% on those exports that hurt Mexico the most.”

The AP was reportedly told by the Mexican Foreign Relations Department that the “negative statements […] did not occur during said telephone call. On the contrary, the tone was constructive.”

MSNBC said on air Thursday morning that all of this was likely “just lighthearted banter” and claims that they are currently vetting the information.

An excerpt reportedly given to the AP suggests that Trump told the Mexican president “You have a bunch of bad hombres down there” and also said, “You aren’t doing enough to stop them. I think your military is scared. Our military isn’t, so I just might send them down to take care of it.”

The Mexican publication Aristegui Noticias parroted something similar with the translated headline “Trump humiliated Pena by telephone: Dolia Estévez report.”

An excerpt of the report (translated) reads:

“I do not need Mexicans, I do not need Mexico,” the US president would have commented. And it threatened to use its military force, according to the report of the journalist in Washington.

The journalist in Washington Dolia Estévez indicated that she had access to part of the private conversation held last Friday by President Enrique Peña Nieto and his United States counterpart, Donald Trump.

However, Estevez is considered by many to be a propagandist who has actually purported fake news on several occasions. Not to mention her most recent report regarding Trump’s alleged condescending phone call to the Mexican president and corresponding leaked transcripts all of which were denied by both the U.S. and Mexican governments.

The Mexican website Proyecto Puente reports:

“Both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the spokesperson for the presidency of the Republic reported, first through social networks through communiqués and then in interviews with national media, that the information handled by the journalist and the international agency The Associated Press (AP) Is out of the reality, is false and with bad intention.”

Additionally, it’s important to point out how Daily Stormer contributor Andrew Anglin reported back in September of 2016 that “Dolia Estevez is a criminal and a foreign agent seeking to undermine the American nation through manipulation of the press. And Forbes has nothing to say about it.” SO she has a well-known track record of faking news and apparently, Forbes is endorsing it.
